A story of BBQ, astrology… and rosé
Like all the best ideas, it all started around a BBQ, with great friends, sunshine, and a generous dose of chilled rosé.
The vibe was perfect when, between two grilled sausages and three bursts of laughter, a French and an American friend dove into a deep existential discussion: “astrology”. The Frenchwoman proudly declared:
" I’m between Pisces and Taurus."
To which the American, glass in hand and a mischievous smile, immediately replied:
" Oh! So, you are on the cusp ! "
Silence around the table. You could have heard an olive drop on the floor.
" Uh… what now do tou mean ? "
She then explained that "On The Cusp" means being “in between”, “on the edge”, “on the verge of something”, depending on the context. And, more importantly, "Cusp" comes from the French word "cuspide", which specifically refers to being between two zodiac signs. Okay, interesting !
And then, my friend (and soon-to-be business partner, though we didn’t know it yet) looked at me with a big grin and said:
" Well then, pour me a glass of On The Cusp ! "
Me: " Huh ? "
Him: " Yeah, the stuff we’ve been drinking along the BBQ party… It’s neither red nor white, it’s rosé wine ! "
And then, The re-ve-la-tion.
Like Newton’s apple moment, but way more fun and a bit less sober. Three glasses later, the idea was born: what if we created OUR own rosé wine, a wine for friends ? A wine that reflected us, made for celebration, ready to cross the Atlantic, and destined to win over good-time lovers, from French poolside lounges to New York rooftops.
And that’s how On The Cusp the French rosé wine4friends was born !

After this thoroughly enjoyable BBQ, we just decided to create our very own brand of rosé wine and distribute it worldwide. Over the past year and a half, we embarked on delightful journeys across France in search of the finest rosé and the perfect winemaker for "On The Cusp." Now, the time has come for us to unveil our nectar and invite you to savor its taste.
